We are currently looking for highly motivated engineering students with a MS, at a fast paced, internationally growing organization with a start-up culture. In this role, you will participate in a wide range of real-world consulting projects including the design, analysis, and optimization of turbomachinery components. This position starts as a paid training internship is for a 6-month period, full-time (40 hours per week). Trainee may be offered a permanent position based on performance evaluations made upon completion of the internship period.

Responsibilities:

  • Support global team on all steps of the rotor-bearing systems design and dynamics analysis activities
  • Participate in projects which include rotordynamics analyses and simulations for different types of bearings, such as oil film, gas foil, hydrodynamic/hydrostatic, journal/thrust, rolling element
  • Develop test cases and perform validation on rotordynamics studies using in-house software AxSTREAM Rotordynamics™ and AxSTREAM Bearing™ for design, analysis and optimization for variety of machines: turbines, compressors, pumps, turbopumps, electric machines, etc.
  • Write technical publications based on internal results and improve existing documents
  • Participate at conferences and trade shows and animate technical webinars
  • Develop and deliver software demonstrations to prospect and current clients

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related science
  • Recent graduates with GPA> 3.3 or higher
  • Strong theoretical background in dynamics of rotating machines, bearings characteristics simulation, rotor-bearing systems design and vibration analysis
  • Specific knowledge of methods and technologies related to rotordynamics analyses
  • Ability to pay attention to details and strong organization skills

Preferred Qualifications

The duties include training customers promptly and effectively in order to improve our customer productivity and satisfaction with AxSTREAM® Suite. In addition, this position will include specifying requirements for improvements in the software, testing for specific applications, preparing documentations and technical write-ups, validating the tools against established test case and generating new test cases. This position should be able to support our team in identifying solutions and concepts for performing Turbomachinery design and analysis using our developed tools.

This position requires interacting with our development team across different locations on a day to day basis. The applicant must possess good understanding of the physics and principles of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, turbomachinery and thermodynamics, strong problem-solving skills, should be a quick learner with proven track record for technical excellence, practical approach, and excellent communication skills. The applicant should be able to work independently under minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Turbomachinery simulation with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Aerospace / Turbomachinery is required. Masters is preferred.
  • Has a natural ability to communicate ideas efficiently.

Tech-Start up seeking a highly motivated Film/Video and Design student to come aboard for a spring/summer internship at our office in Midtown Manhattan. This is a fast-paced position at an internationally growing organization with a start-up culture. Boston – Turbomachinery CAD Design Engineer

At this position he/she will be part of multidisciplinary engineering team and participate in turbomachinery project development. The engineer will be responsible for the entire project, from inception to client sign-off.

The ideal candidate will participate in regular meetings to coordinate design details with clients, designers, engineers and management.

He/she will be working on components/assemblies solid models and drawings development and entire project integration, coordinating engineering steps with aero, thermodynamics and structural teams. On this position candidate needs to have broad understanding on turbomachinery design and operation, very sharp analytical skills, which he/she will use throughout the project life cycle, including detailed pre-development proposal analysis, projects feasibility estimation, and user requirements analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have solid design and modeling experience with mechanical components in NX, Solid Works and others CAD software.
  • Detailed experience utilizing ASME/ISO processes in the accomplishment of daily tasks.
  • Knowledge in Turbomachinery, specifically in Gas and Steam Turbine Engines, Rotors, Shafts and Blades is highly desirable as well as experience with turbomachinery components fabrication processes, material properties, casting and forging.
