SoftInWay is focused on providing the engineering community with theory and practice of
turbomachinery flow path design and optimization. In the first quarter of 2009 the company
organizes interactive training, a webinar and an introductory seminar where attendees from all over the world will be able to deepen their knowledge of effective axial/radial turbomachinery design with AxSTREAM:
Interactive training
Turbomachinery Flow Path Design, Analysis and Optimization using AxSTREAM.
The training will be held in Boston, MA, February 24-26, 2009.
The practical course consists of
- a hands-on workshop on axial and radial turbomachinery, axial turbine, axial compressor, centrifugal compressor, and radial turbine;
- an extra track on the evaluation and retrofitting of the existing turbomachinery;
- a presentation of the latest AxSTREAM features;
- individual consultations with the leading SoftInWay experts.
As a result of AxSTREAM workshop, each participant will be able to design and optimize an original turbomachinery flow path,
starting from preliminary design and ending by generation of 3D blade profiles.
The tuition includes a one month license to the complete AxSTREAM software suite and detailed manuals enabling users to quickly
master the software for more effective turbomachinery flow path design. For registration information, please visit
our website.

“The training class was excellent, especially the tutorial you created using our vane & blade.
I appreciate all of the work that you put in to complete it in time especially on such short notice.
I look forward to working with the tutorial so that I develop a good understanding of all that I can do with it...”

SoftInWay proudly presents the new version of its advanced AxSTREAM software for turbomachinery flow path design and optimization.
The newly-launched release is characterized by an enhanced interface,
the optimization of already existing features and implementation of the recent SoftInWay innovations. Among the key features of
AxSTREAM are:
- The Streamline Solver is now compatible with centrifugal compressors.
- 3D flow module AxCFD (Euler and potential flow solvers) has been enhanced.
The solver ensures more accurate calculation, enables users to quickly define 3D flow path
characteristics and allows controlling mesh quality and taking the calculation results as initial values.
- Campbell diagram (AxSTRESS module) that helps users find the critical speed for a stationary frame of
reference has been implemented.
- Mollier diagram is more detailed
- New charts for blade loading on Profiling have been added.
The new version refers to the third generation of AxSTREAM and will be presented at future
SoftInWay Turbomachinery Flow Path Design Training in Boston,
February 24-26, 2009. All the innovations were incorporated into AxSTREAM Educational Versions for
Turbomachinery Flow Path Design for students of technical colleges and universities.

Dr. Y. Govorushchenko presents the Streamline Solver capable to perform analysis of
multistage turbomachinery flow path and flow paths with counter-rotating blade rows.
|
In the area of turbomachinery research and education SoftInWay conducted two interactive workshops for professional
mechanical/aerospace engineers during the last quarter of 2008. Thus, AxSTREAM Training on Turbomachinery Flow Path Design,
Analysis and Optimization took place in Boston, October 7-9, and in Dusseldorf, December 3-5. During the hands-on course the participants
discovered a quicker and more effective way of turbomachinery flow path design and were acquainted with the new features of AxSTREAM,
such as the unique Streamline Solver. By the end of the training all attendees received
a completion certificate confirming their ability to design/redesign and optimize axial/radial turbomachinery using AxSTREAM.
SoftInWay took part in 2008 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition that was held in Boston, October 31 - November 6.
During the congress Dr. Leonid Moroz presented SoftInWay paper on the
Integrated Conceptual Design Environment for Centrifugal Compressors Flow Path Design.
The paper is focused on optimizing centrifugal and mixed-type compressors flow path design and cutting engineering costs.
