SoftinWay Active at IGTI Congress 2007 in Tokyo
|
|
From the 2nd to the 7th of December, 2007, with the support of collaborating technical societies in the world, the 9th annual International Gas Turbine Congress 2007 Tokyo (IGTC'07 Tokyo) was held. This conference and exhibition brought together people from academia, industries, and government to share the latest information available on new development in the field of gas turbines, turbochargers, and their applications.
SoftinWay had a very strong presence in several
contexts. In conjunction with their Japanese distributor, Kyokuto Boeki Kaisha Ltd (KBK), representatives from SoftinWay conducted numerous live demonstrations of AxSTREAM to many interested attendees.
Dr. Leonid Moroz, President of SoftinWay, was a presenter of a technical paper which described how AxSTREAM was used to lessen the weight of a low pressure turbine section of a jet engine. The paper, titled
“Advanced Gas Turbine Concept, Design and Evaluation Methodology.
Preliminary Design of Highly Loaded Low Pressure Gas Turbine of Aircraft Engine” can be viewed by

TM Flow Path Training Courses in Ukraine and Czech Republic
|
|
A series of training courses on AxSTREAM
suite were held in Europe in late 2007. Two of them were held for Russian and Ukrainian enterprises and took place in Kharkov, Ukraine. Among attendees were representatives from Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ), JSC Nevsky Zavod (Saint Petersburg, Russia), OJSC Aviadvigatel PMZ (Perm, Russia), Zorya-Mashproekt (Nikolaev, Ukraine), JSC Sumy Frunze NPO (Sumy, Ukraine), Yuzhnoe SDO (Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine), ZMDB Ivchenko Progress – Motor Sich JSC (Zaporozhye, Ukraine), Turboatom (Kharkov, Ukraine).
One additional course was held in Prague, Czech Republic. Training course and included attendees from the Czech Republic, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. The training courses covered radial turbo machinery as well as axial.
The basic questions considered in the course of training were: AxSTREAM suite overview, the main design approaches via AxSTREAM, attendees’ practical design examples examining etc.
Every participant learned how to design via AxSTREAM and also received 1-month AxSTREAM license.
|
“The recent CATE training course in Prague was extremely useful. As an existing
user of AxSTREAM it was an opportunity to question the software support team at
a more advanced level. The support staff responded well to my queries and made
time to respond on a ‘one to one’ basis through examples. The course was important
to me as it provided answers in a matter of days which would normally have taken
considerably longer. Many thanks to all the SoftInWay staff involved.”
