SoftinWay Active at IGTI Congress 2007 in Tokyo

From the 2nd to the 7th of December, 2007, with the support of collaborating technical societies in the world, the 9th annual International Gas Turbine Congress 2007 Tokyo (IGTC'07 Tokyo) was held. This conference and exhibition brought together people from academia, industries, and government to share the latest information available on new development in the field of gas turbines, turbochargers, and their applications.

SoftinWay had a very strong presence in several contexts. In conjunction with their Japanese distributor, Kyokuto Boeki Kaisha Ltd (KBK), representatives from SoftinWay conducted numerous live demonstrations of AxSTREAM to many interested attendees.

Dr. Leonid Moroz, President of SoftinWay, was a presenter of a technical paper which described how AxSTREAM was used to lessen the weight of a low pressure turbine section of a jet engine. The paper, titled “Advanced Gas Turbine Concept, Design and Evaluation Methodology. Preliminary Design of Highly Loaded Low Pressure Gas Turbine of Aircraft Engine” can be viewed by clicking here >>.

2008 SoftinWay Course Schedule Announced

SoftinWay will be conducting its training courses in the design, analysis and optimization of turbomachinery flow paths four times during 2008. Course locations and dates are:

Boston, MA, USA
Berlin, Germany
Boston, MA USA
TBD
March 18-20
June 6-8 (in conjunction with ASME/IGTI 2008)
October 7-9
December (TBD)

This is a hands-on course that covers both axial and radial turbomachinery. Each course is tailored to focus on the specific interests of the attendees of that particular course, including sessions for new users, special User’s Group meeting for current users, and break-out sessions on specific topics such as axial turbine and compressor retrofits and performance upgrades, etc. Course tuition includes a one month license to AxSTREAM.

Price is $600/day/ individual (commercial) and $500/day/individual (academia). Course curriculum and registration details can be at our website, www.softinway.com. For the March course in Boston, there is a significant tuition discount if registration and payment are received prior to Februrary 1, 2008. Locations and dates are subject to change.
