SoftInWay Through the Prizm of Events
With a tentative theme of "The Global Market and Cooperative Ventures" the 2006 Turbo Expo conference and exhibition had been held on May 8-11 at the Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB).

From year to year, ASME Gas Turbine and Aeroengine Technical Congress and Exposition sponsored by the International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) attracts an international audience with four full days of technical sessions, tutorials, panel discussions, trade show exhibits, committee meetings and special events completely focused and related equipment.

Of course, we couldn’t miss such event and together with other representatives of different companies had been presenting our software products. During the event AxSTREAM™ has attracted attention of many attendants searching for the integrated, robust and cost-effective solutions for turbomachinery design. Amongst them specialists from such companies as: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB, Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., GE Energy, Hitachi Ltd., Pratt & Whitney UTC, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Honeywell, Branch LMZ of the OJSC Power Machines, ENEL SPA, Toshiba Corporation, Nagasaki University and many others were interested in our product.

The fact that AxSTREAM™ had great success was naturally because in comparison with heavy weighting solvers on today’s market AxSTREAM™ enables designers to very rapidly perform multivariate calculations in a corporate format obtaining quality results and compressing time to market.

SoftInWay's Training Courses

Our clients’ success - that is our success. Exactly to ensure customers’ progresses with our software product SoftInWay has started series of Technical Seminars devoted to AxSTREAM™Turbomachinery Design and Optimization Suite. The first one was carried out in Daejeon, Korea (June, 2006). Specialists from such companies as KIMM, KARI, Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction, KEPKO, KPS and others were presented at the Seminar.

On the pictures below Dr. Leonid Moroz (Chief Executive Officer of SoftInWay) explains to engineers granted AxSTREAM™ capabilities for new turbomachinery design technologies and redesign of existing turbines. Korean specialists were displaying a keen interest in AxSTREAM™ aspiring to know about our product as much as possible. During the Seminar they have designed turbine and obtained its main characteristics and were really amazed found results in a short time.

AxSTREAM / NUMECA Integration

AxSTREAM™ and NUMECA software development teams made it possible to integrate the power and flexibility of AxSTREAM™ with robust and easy-to-use NUMECA 3D CFD simulation tool through AxSTREAM™/Numeca Integration Wizard making validation process of turbine/compressor design smoother and more convenient. It can be run from AxSTREAM™ software graphical user interface generating CFD calculations quickly and easily.

After conducting full cycle of aerodynamic design in AxSTREAM™ (starting from preliminary design, S1/S2 surfaces optimization, meanline/through flow analysis and finishing by profiling and blade shaping) 3D geometry is ready to be passed to external solvers to validate turbine/compressor design performance.

There are 4 basic steps in AxSTREAM™/NUMECA Integration Wizard to walk through. Following to step-by-step actions user can perform geometry export, automatic meshing and conducting CFD computation without leaving AxSTREAM smart space environment by running NUMECA in batch or GUI mode.

So AxSTREAM™ fast optimized design based on the solid industrial experience and NUMECA sturdy, accuracy and easy-to-use CFD tools make together industry valued powerful design suite.
